Exploring the beauty of geoscience. One rock at a time.
Hi, I'm Martin and I absolutely love rocks. As a student of geology and other physical sciences, I find nothing more wondrous than observing natural processes interacting with one another and using fundamental principles to explain these observations.
I have noticed a distinct lack in field trip ventures and societies within Monash University and Victoria in general and so have taken it upon myself to organise some sort of medium with which to take other fellow students out into the field to explore the wonders of Victorian geology. I also plan and host many study sessions to sharpen particular skills in geoscience such as stereonet analysis, cross-section drawing, sketching (which I also need a great deal of practice in), handling various simple geodata sets.
My work is inspired by the never ceasing efforts of Julie Boyce, Jim Driscoll and my wonderful mentor who has been an enormous source of support and opportunity and in whom I owe my amazing tertiary education to, Prof. Pete Betts.
